Imagine if you can, a world without wildlife. The need for global wildlife conservation is urgent and the task awesome. We believe that conservation begins with individuals. We hope that as you learn about our animals here at Lincoln Park Zoo, you will come to understand and respect wildlife from around the earth and will be inspired to take action of your own.

Come to the zoo for enjoyment and recreation and leave with even more: a better understanding of the world's endangered wildlife and the increasingly threatened habitats where animals live.

Lincoln Park Zoo strives to build understanding and respect for wildlife and natural lands across the world. The zoo works with many partners to advance the cause of conservation locally, nationally and globally. The zoo teaches casual visitors, as well as students and teachers in the Chicago area, about environmental science and the role we all must play as stewards of the earth.

The zoo's Scott Neotropic Fund provides funding for conservation efforts throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. Since its inception in 1986, nearly 45 grants in 13 nations have been awarded, providing support for young conservation biologists working in their native countries.

Further support of vital wildlife research comes through Lincoln Park Zoo's Dr. Scholl Science Fellowships. Through an annual grant from the Dr. Scholl Foundation, five fellowships are offered each year for undergraduate and graduate research projects at the zoo.
